Time clauses

Use bevor, nachdem, seitdem, bis, and sobald.

The rule

Choose a time connector by the relationship between events: before, after, since, until or as soon as. Check the reference point, tense and final verb.

bevor · nachdem · seitdem · bis · sobald + final verb

Use bevor for the later clause viewed before another action and nachdem for the earlier completed action.

Use seitdem for a starting event that continues to the reference time.

Use bis for an endpoint and sobald for immediate sequence.
